Breaded Mushroom Eating Contest
Contestants race through plates of breaded mushrooms, one of the festival's oldest traditions. Noon on Sunday, right after the Chopped finale wraps on the culinary stage.

Third Thursday on State Street
State Street closes to cars from five until ten so the restaurants can put tables in the road. Shops stay open late, bands play, pop-up vendors set up, kids have their own corner.
Kennett Brewfest
The 29th Brewfest brings more than 80 breweries and 200-plus beers to downtown Kennett Square on Saturday, October 10, with general tasting from 1:30 to 5. The noon Connoisseur session opens early access to rare pours and a catered lunch for $100; general admission is $60.
Midnight in the Square
Kennett Square drops a lit, 80-foot sparkling mushroom at 11:59 on New Year's Eve, with an early raise around 8:50 for families with kids. Bands, lasers, and a photo booth run downtown from 7 until 1 a.m.; admission is a non-perishable food donation for Kennett Area Community Service.
