What we keep, and what we don't.

The short version: if you give us your email, we keep it so we can send you the newsletter. Beyond that, we count pages and questions, never people. Nobody buys or rents the list, and one email to us removes anything we hold.

The newsletter

When you subscribe we keep your email address, plus a town or county if you pick one so the right edition reaches you. Sends go through Beehiiv, the email service we use, and we keep a copy of the list in our own records so a mistake can be fixed by a person. Every email carries an unsubscribe link, and replying to one works too.

Signing up through Facebook or Instagram

If you subscribe through one of our ads, Meta passes us the email address you typed into its form, and we treat it exactly like a signup on this site. Meta's handling of the form itself is covered by Meta's own policy, not ours.

Find your burb

The quiz records your answers and the town it matched, with no name, no email and no address, so we can see which questions and which towns come up. If you subscribe on the result screen, the matched town is saved with your email as your town preference.

Burby

Questions you ask Burby are sent to a service provider that helps produce the answer, and the question and answer are kept in a log with no name, no email and no address. We read the log to see what people are looking for out here and to make the answers better.

Reading the site

Our own counter records which page was viewed and which outside link was clicked, and nothing about who did it: no address, no browser fingerprint, no cookie. Google Analytics also runs on the site and does set cookies; a browser setting or a blocker stops it, and the site works the same either way. Your browser's own storage is used to remember that you closed the newsletter box and, for one visit, which link brought you here.

Forms

What you type into the claim-your-page or advertising forms goes into our records, and a person reads every submission before anything on the site changes.

Who else sees it

The services that run this site: Beehiiv for email, Airtable for records, Vercel for hosting, Google for analytics, Meta only if you signed up through an ad, and the provider that helps answer Burby. None of them get the list to use for themselves, and we never sell it, trade it or rent it.

Kids

The site is for people planning a Saturday. We don't knowingly collect anything from children under 13, and if we learn we have, we delete it.

Your say

To see, change or delete what we hold on you, email simpleflosolutions@gmail.com from the address in question and a person will do it. When this page changes, the date below changes with it.
