Fall Fest

Newtown Borough's Fall Fest is Saturday, September 19, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Linton Memorial Park, 108 S. Lincoln Ave., the borough park across from the CVS. The Newtown Borough Recreation Board puts it on, and this is the third year running. The rain date is Sunday, September 20. The borough describes it as a family event with a DJ and food and beverage trucks, and the flyer names names. DJ Redman handles the music. The food trucks are Uncle Vin's, Sweet & Breezy BBQ and Dough & Company. Drinks come from Second Sin Brewing and Triple Sun, and there are games for the kids. The borough hasn't posted anything on admission or parking, so those two answers are still yours to find. What makes it worth the trip is the shape of the evening: four hours in a park, a DJ, a brewery on the drinks side and barbecue on the food side, and the kids busy with games while you eat. It wraps at 8, so dinner from the trucks and home at a reasonable hour is the whole plan. If the forecast turns, check the borough calendar or the Recreation Board's Facebook page before you drive over, because the whole thing moves to Sunday.
