The 1882 Phoenix Iron Company foundry, still standing, now telling the story of an ironworks whose column designs are cited as an influence on the Eiffel Tower's engineers. The restoration fund is chasing something bigger next: the Phoenix Wheel, possibly the oldest surviving Ferris wheel anywhere.
