Meet the Authors Day at Elmwood Park Zoo
More than a dozen local authors set up tables inside the zoo for three hours on a Sunday morning, signing and selling between the animal habitats. Included with zoo admission.
Free Admission on Labor Day at Elmwood Park Zoo
The zoo drops admission to nothing for every guest on the Monday holiday, ten to five. Registration ahead is preferred, and a free day at a zoo is a good argument for arriving early.

Labor Day, and the street stays closed. Four blocks of Gay Street without cars, restaurant tables out in the road, and the shops on either side open for the holiday.
Last Day of Daily Mini Golf at Alverthorpe Park
The mini golf course at Alverthorpe Park runs every day through Labor Day, then drops to weekends only for the rest of September. This is the last everyday round of the year.
Festival of Fountains at Longwood Gardens
The fountain season runs to the end of September, and the gardens stay open on Labor Day Monday when most of Chester County is closed. Closed Tuesdays. Timed tickets sell out on holiday weekends.
