Wednesday morning stories and songs with Miss Susie in the community room, pitched at all ages rather than one narrow band. An hour, no registration, weekly from mid-October.

Incoming sixth graders put their questions about middle school to the kids who already survived it, in the library's young adult area. An hour, and free.
Back to School Family Game Night
Board games spread across the whole community room before the school year swallows everyone's evenings. Ninety minutes, open to families, at the Abington branch on Old York Road.
DIY Backpack Charms
Grades three through twelve make a charm to hang off a backpack. An hour in the community room with all the materials supplied. Registration recommended.

Second Saturday
A themed night in the plaza at SORA West with seasonal food, cocktails and a band. The 9's Band takes the October 10 slot, the last one of the year.
Rock of Ages
The Tony-nominated jukebox musical built on eighties arena rock, running three weeks on the riverside stage. Recommended for ages 14 and up, and children under four are not permitted in the theater.
McConkey's Market
Soaps, balms, candles, home goods and treats made from plants grown in the park's own kitchen gardens, sold for one Saturday in October. Money goes back into the gardens and their education programs.
