Harleysville Halloween Parade and Fun Fest
Costumes line up at Indian Valley Middle School at 9:30, judging starts at 10, and the parade steps off at 10:30 down Maple Avenue, School Lane, Kulp Road and Park Avenue to the Harleysville Community Center. Prizes go to babies and toddlers, school grades, pets, groups and floats, and every marcher gets a free hot dog and drink. The Halloween Fun Fest runs 11 to 1 at the community center with children's games, a magician, food for sale and the Japheth Rittenhouse Band from 11 to 12:30. A candy drop from the fire company's ladder truck comes at 11:45. It runs rain or shine, with no rain date. Harleysville is a short drive from Souderton and Telford.

A morning bird walk with the Liberty Bird Alliance on the third Tuesday of the month at Lorimer Park in Abington. Free, run by the county parks environmental educator's office.

Nine simulated holes before work with a rotating cast of local business people. Ninety minutes, no handicap required, and the point is the conversation between shots as much as the golf.
