West Chester Turkey Trot 2026
A 5K run and 2K walk through downtown on Thanksgiving morning, third year running, put on with the West Chester Downtown Foundation. Strollers are fine, pets are not, and it goes ahead rain or shine.

Shops stay open late, many run sales, and street parking is free after five. The Rescue Dogs Band plays the Historic Courthouse and The Richard Brothers Band plays Gay Street.

The West Chester Walking Club picks a different downtown spot each week and sets off at 9:30. Easy pace, no sign up, and some weeks the group ends up in a shop or a cafe.

Behind the Scenes Tours: Fonthill Castle From Tower to Crypt
Ninety minutes off the normal route through Henry Mercer's concrete castle: tower stairs, hidden passageways, the rooms the standard tour skips. Steep and dark in places, age fourteen and up.
Friends of High School Park Workday Weekends
Volunteer stewardship morning in an eleven acre native green space, ten to noon on the first and third weekends. Tools and gloves are provided. Wear long pants and closed toe shoes.
Sangria Sundays at Bishop Estate Vineyard & Winery
The winery pours a different sangria every Sunday, seasonal flavors through the fall, with live music and a food truck on site. Indoor, outdoor and tented seating, so the weather is not the deciding factor.
