Hey, welcome back to edition 2. 22 new readers this week, nice. Maybe it’ll be 33 new ones next week for edition 3? Anyway, some things about this newsletter. I’ll just dump some thoughts in bullet points below, feel free to skip over them for the events if that’s all you want to see (that’s the point of this whole thing any way.) If any of these bullet points spark an idea, curiosity, confusion, passion, etc. Please respond and fire off an email with whatever is on your mind. I’m shooting from the hip here, so I encourage you to do that same. - I’ll probably do a little rambling like this each week, just to get down some thoughts about what this Good Burbs thing is, going forward.
- Everything in one place is good. That’s why this website exists.
- Everything in one place can be overwhelming. That’s why the newsletter portion exists. Whittling down from everything, to “here’s a few to check it.” Not to mention, you don’t have to think to check the website.
- This you don’t have to remember to search, it lands where you already live on Mondays. (that’s why the newsletter in conjunction with the site makes sense). You receive and scan. You see event name, time, date, location, and title. That gives you enough to make a decision whether you’re interested. You process 27 towns worth of events in 5 minutes on a Monday. You have experiences you never would otherwise have because of this. I remember when I stumbled upon Wayne Porchfest (great event, you should go) a few years ago. It just so happened that I was at a coffee shop in Wayne and saw a flyer and thought, that sounds sweet. I went and it was sweet. Now I go every year.
