Sellersville does nearly all of its eating on Main Street, which turns a ranking into a walking route with opinions. The route passes a dinner table one wall away from a 325-seat theater, breakfast inside a 1737 grist mill, and a square-cut Grandma pizza from a family that's been at it since 1976. We kept it to seven, and the order is the opinionated part. Walk the street and check our work.
The Washington House Hotel & Restaurant
Contemporary American cooking and an antique bar, one shared wall from the Sellersville Theater's 325-seat stage, so dinner and the show never involve moving the car. Eleven rooms upstairs, in case the encore turns into a nightcap.
Chiaro's Pizzeria & Restaurant
Family-run since 1976, and the Grandma — thin crispy crust, tangy sauce, cut into squares — is the order on South Main. The gelato and espresso are made in house too, so the meal gets to end properly.
Café @ The Mill
Texas French toast and a barn burger inside Wambold's Grist Mill, standing on the East Branch of the Perkiomen since 1737 and cooking again after years empty. Chips and salsa land on the table while you wait, a breakfast move we didn't know we were missing.
J.T. Bankers
Eight-ounce burgers ground and seasoned in house, plus a wing list a dozen sauces deep that ends at a suicide that means it. Tuesday is wing night, Wednesday is build-your-own-burger, and the peanut butter pie is made here too.
A & N Diner & Family Restaurant
Gyros and souvlaki share the laminated menu with PA Dutch comfort plates, a combination you only get out here. Omelets are made to order and portioned like they assume you skipped lunch.
Johnny Roc's Pizza Plus
Pizza, cheesesteaks, hoagies, and wings from the North Main corner it's held since 1992. Cash lunch specials run 10 to 2, and on Friday and Saturday the kitchen goes till 10 for whoever's still out.
Thriving Hive Tea Room
Afternoon tea by reservation, Wednesday through Saturday: finger sandwiches, scones, and a rotating dessert spread, with Saturday tables the ones worth calling ahead for. Bebe & Pop's ice cream shares the address for anyone in your party who voted against scones.
