Montgomery County pizza, one shop open since 1946
One of them pours beer brewed in the same building.
Montgomery County has pizza counters that have outlasted the towns around them, and a few that opened last year. The oldest on this list has been at the same Ardmore address since 1946. The newest pours beer brewed fifty feet from the oven.
-
Same East County Line Road address since 1946, dine-in or carryout, with a room set aside for private parties and specials running Monday through Thursday. "I've been eating there when I can for over 30 years," Lew says on Google.
-
On Rittenhouse Place since 1973, open until 11 on Fridays and Saturdays, with an upside-down pie that puts the sauce on top and buffalo wings sold by the fifty.
-
Vito and Maria Cilluffo bought this Lancaster Avenue shop in 1982 and have made New York style pies in the Sicilian tradition ever since, with beer and wine for dine-in or takeout.
-
Greek style pan pizza, baked in oiled pans for a crisp bottom and an airy middle, from a family running the Keswick Village shop since 2001. The cheesesteaks come on Liscio's rolls.
-
The namesake is a square thin crust with light mozzarella and chunky tomato sauce, and the rest of the menu runs to round pies, Sicilian pies, and salads by the half tray. BYOB.
-
The beer is brewed in the same building, from a West Coast IPA down to a Golden Lager. The Main Street Pie loads steak, pepperoni, fried onions, and garlic, and the pour travels about fifty feet.
-
The best-selling upside-down pie flips the usual order, sauce on top and cheese underneath. The Lansdale Cheese Steak comes topped with french fries, fried onions, and cheddar sauce, open until 10:30 on Fridays and Saturdays.
-
Bakery, Neapolitan pizzeria, and Italian grocery under one roof, locally owned since 1994. The breads and rolls come from scratch on-site every morning.
-
A family-run brick oven at County Line Road with a full bar and a second-floor hall for parties, open until 2 a.m. all seven nights.
