Bored Trading Cafe
A pop-up kitchen and coffee bar inside Almost Home General on Cricket Avenue. Coffee roasted in house, food made to order, and a room set up for laptops: smash burgers, chicken and waffles, espresso drinks.
The Brew Room
A Greek coffeehouse on West Lancaster Avenue from Danny and Eleni, who both grew up in northern Greece. The sandwiches lean on house-made whipped feta and zaatar hummus, and the pastry case runs to bougatsa.
Char & Stave
Coffee in the morning and cocktails at night, from the crew behind Bluebird Distilling in Phoenixville. They roast their own beans and run a two day cold brew, and the bar list includes an Ardmore Old Fashioned.
Izzy’s Cocktail Bar
Twenty-four seats, no reservations, and a handwritten menu of handrolls and bao buns behind the cocktails. Biff Gottehrer runs the kitchen, and the back bar leans Japanese whiskey, shochu and sake.
Jack McShea's Pub
Ardmore's neighborhood pub since 2012, family run, with the bar going until 2am. Cheesesteaks and the King Jack's smash burger anchor a short menu, and owner Neil McShea bakes on site.
Local Wine & Kitchen
A wine bar Stefan Gagliano opened in 2014 on the west end of Lancaster Ave, where cheese and charcuterie keep going until close. Wine Wednesday tastings pour five glasses with a small plate buffet.
Lower Merion Beverage Co.
Beer, cider and hard seltzer in every format from singles to cases and kegs, open on Greenfield Ave since 2021. Belgian beer is the house specialty, with Brumate and GrowlerWerks drinkware on the shelves too.
McCloskey's Tavern
An Irish pub that has been on Cricket Avenue since 1934, which by its own count makes it the oldest on the Main Line. Rotating craft taps, burgers and wings, and a kitchen that runs an hour later Thursday through Saturday.
McSorley's Ale House
A Haverford Road sports bar with 16 taps and better than 30 beers in total, plus dart boards, pool tables and TVs on every game. Family run, and loud once the college crowd arrives.
Ripplewood Whiskey & Craft
A whiskey bar on Lancaster Avenue with a kitchen under chef and co-owner Biff Gottehrer. The Inquirer gave it three bells and singled out the double-patty burger. Happy hour runs 3 to 5 every day it opens.
Rusty Nail Tavern / Nightclub
A live music room on Haverford Road that has been booking bands for more than 70 years. Thursday is the open jam, Friday and Saturday go to local original acts, and the calendar is posted months ahead.
Tired Hands Fermentaria Tap Room
Tired Hands' production brewery since 2015, 13,000 square feet with a tap room and a General Store attached. This is where Hop Hands comes from, and where the Milkshake IPA got invented alongside Sweden's Omnipollo.
Wallace Dry Goods
A bottle shop on Lancaster Ave where nothing has alcohol in it: zero-proof beer, wine, spirits and aperitifs, plus bitters and mixers. The tasting bar pours rotating samples and the occasional craft mocktail.
