The Best Restaurants in Glenside
Ranked on what the town votes for and what the critics wrote down, not on who has the most reviews.
Two Regional Rail lines, a 1928 theater, and more restaurants worth the drive inside a half mile than the town gets credit for. Ten places, ranked on what holds up outside town: the Inquirer's regional Italian award, a Best of Philly nod, and the local paper's reader poll in 2019 and again in 2025. Pizza Box wins a category in that poll and has no page here yet, which is our gap and not theirs.
TreVi Cucina Italiano
Three straight years of Gold for Best Italian in the Inquirer's Philly Favorites, which is a regional field and not a Glenside one, plus the town's own vote for Best BYOB in 2019 and again in 2025. Joe Burke Jr. cooks alongside his father, and nothing else here has won at both scales.
Moma Mediterranean Kitchen
Fifty-three Google reviews and 822 on Resy, which tells you who actually eats here: people who booked a table and drove in for it. Bledar Istrefi's third kitchen after Trattoria Moma and Dua in Bryn Mawr, dinner only, BYOB, whole grilled branzino, and the only room in town confident enough to run a dress code.
Roberts Block Restaurant
Four categories in the 2025 town vote, more than any other restaurant took: date night, cocktails, outdoor dining and the espresso martini. It sits in the station building that stood empty for two decades until the Inquirer wrote up its second act, and the Block Yard out back runs trivia and live music.
Humpty's Dumplings
The only Glenside kitchen with a name outside Montgomery County: Best of Philly from Philadelphia magazine, best food at Bonnaroo from Rolling Stone, and one of just three food businesses that magazine bothered to name in its Glenside guide. Chip steak and American cheese inside a wrapper, a dollar each on Wednesdays.
Rocky’s Deli Style Restaurant
Forty-five years on East Glenside Avenue, and the hometown paper has written up the 40th, the 42nd and the 44th anniversaries, which is attention nobody buys. Best Cheesesteak and Best Breakfast Sandwiches in the 2025 vote, off a counter that opens at 6 and stops making the Rock 'O' Muffin at 11.
Elia Greek Authentic Cuisine
The one proper Greek dinner in town, run by a family from Agrinio who make their own spanakopita dough rather than open a box of phyllo. The Keswick points ticket holders here, portions come out oversized, and it stays BYO, which is how it beats rooms with a liquor license.
Union Jack's Olde Glory Pub
Best Wings and Best Beer List in 2019, then Best Wings and Best Beer List again in 2025, which is six years of the town refusing to change its mind. Open to midnight seven nights, and the crisp pierogies are the reason to order past the wings.
Glenside Pizza
Twenty-five years of Greek-style pan pizza and close to two million a year in sales without taking a single order through DoorDash or Uber Eats, which is why both national pizza trade magazines wrote it up. The town's pizza vote goes elsewhere, but nobody else here has that crust or that spine.
The Village Diner
Best Breakfast in 2019 and Best Breakfast again in 2025, and the top-ranked Glenside room on Tripadvisor, which almost never happens to a diner. Jackie Ecker grew up here and opened it in 2003; it runs 8 to 2 every day and then the lights go off, which is the whole point.
Trios Tomato Pie
Took the artisan pizza category in the 2025 vote on the strength of one thing: a square thin crust with chunky sauce and light mozzarella that nobody else in town attempts. BYOB, and the menu runs long enough to feed a table that cannot agree.
