The Best Restaurants in Perkasie

Perkasie's dinner scene is quieter than it deserves — there's an eight-course tasting menu in here. Consider the secret out.

Perkasie doesn't get talked about as a food town, which seems to suit the people eating here just fine. Look closer: an eight-course tasting menu behind a BYOB door on Walnut, a pub where the framed photos on the walls are the regulars' own families, a rooftop that pours until midnight on weekends. Ranking a scene this quiet felt a little like telling on it, so we were careful about the order.

1

Maize Restaurant

Four- and eight-course tasting menus that chef-owner Matt McPhelin has rewritten daily since 2008, served BYOB with no corking fee. Reserve ahead, bring a bottle worth the occasion, and plan on the full two hours.

519 W Walnut St, Perkasie, PA 18944

2

The Perk

Order the Big Ram burger on the pub side, where the walls are lined with framed photos of regulars' families. Some of those regulars are in twice a week, which is the only endorsement that matters.

501 E Walnut St, Perkasie, PA 18944

3

Rams Pint House & Rooftop Lounge

A gastropub with a rooftop deck over Chestnut Street, where the taps stay on until midnight on weekends. Seats up top go first-come, first-serve, so Friday rail spots belong to whoever climbs the stairs earliest.

606 W Chestnut St, Perkasie, PA 18944

4

Stewart's Arch Street Deli

A family-run counter where the breakfast sandwich comes standard with two eggs and two slices of cheese; the meat and the bread are your call. At lunch, do what the regulars do and get the cheesesteak.

621 Arch St, Perkasie, PA 18944

5

C & C Cafe

Family-run since 2008 and open Thursday through Sunday only, 8 to 2. The stuffed French toast justifies the weekend alarm; the omelettes and hoagies handle everyone else at the table.

609 W Market St, Perkasie, PA 18944

6

Perkasie Pizza & Pasta

Nearly twenty years in, with a menu that keeps going past the pie into stuffed shells, eggplant rollatini, and chicken ala Rosa. The regulars reach for the pepperoni calzone or the cheesesteak, and they're not wrong.

615 W Market St, Perkasie, PA 18944

7

Bravo's Pizza

The grandma pie is the order: thin, square-cut, crisp at the edges. Put it in online Monday through Thursday and 15 percent comes off the bill.

212 W Walnut St, Perkasie, PA 18944

8

Pomodorino Pizza

Neapolitan pies on Constitution Avenue, with a Margherita built on fresh mozzarella, basil, and Parmigiano for about twenty dollars. The mozzarella sticks have their own constituency, pizza or no pizza.

527 Constitution Ave, Perkasie, PA 18944

9

Mystic Ways Brewing

Creamy pints off a side-pull tap that only a handful of Pennsylvania places bother to keep, in a taproom strung with hanging plants and fairy lights. There's a kitchen and a beer garden out back, so you can make a night of it.

510 1/2 W Walnut St, Perkasie, PA 18944
