Kettle-boiled since 1993: eight bagels in Bucks County
One takes cash only, one shares its counter with a plant shop, and one opened last December.
Bucks County runs on bagels before it runs on anything else. From Doylestown to Quakertown, the morning counters open at six or seven, boil and bake on site, and wrap up by two. Here are eight worth getting up for, spread across five towns.
-
Kettle-boiled bagels baked on site since 1993 on West State Street, doors open at 6 AM weekdays. "Bagel Barrel is the GOAT of all bagel shops in the area," Brian says on Google.
-
Boiled and baked on Veterans Lane, with flagels for the crust maximalists and La Colombe in the cup. "Best bagels in Bucks County," Matt says on Google.
-
NY-style bagels on Swamp Road since 2001, open seven days but done by 2. The shop's own pick for top seller is the bacon-egg-and-cheese, and gluten-free options sit alongside them.
-
The counter at 107 Makefield Road opens at 7 and takes Mondays off. The bagel does the whole job: crispy outside, chewy and soft in the middle.
-
Hand-rolled bagels on South Main, cash or check only, with a weekend line that forms before the fruit-and-nut ones sell out. Boar's Head on the bacon, egg and cheese.
-
Family-run in the Stony Hill strip, kitchen running 7 to 2 seven days a week. Breakfast stretches from pork roll and eggs to steak and eggs, all on fresh-daily bagels.
-
New York bagels and dirty soda under one roof on North Main, inside the Just One More Plant shop. Browse the houseplants while you wait, and go back for the Garlic Parm before it runs out.
-
New York bagels par-boiled in the city and finished fresh every morning on Old Bethlehem Road. Former Pirates pitcher Mike Johnston opened it in December 2025.
