Antojitos Mi Tierra
Mexican spot on South Union working the antojitos end of the menu: tacos, tortas, and street snacks. Newer and small, the kind of place regulars find first.
Bomba Taco + Bar
Tacos and tequila at The Grove, with scratch-made cocktails and a bar calendar that stays busy — Marg Mondays, a Jeopardy bar league, the occasional throwback dance party. One of two Bomba rooms out here; the other is in Newtown.
Buena Vista Mexican Restaurant & Cantina in Ardmore
Family Mexican restaurant from chef Jorge Martinez, who started the group in 2010. Ardmore is one of the locations with a bar rather than a BYOB, and the kitchen runs mole poblano and a molcajete built for two.
Cantina Feliz
The dressed-up cantina on East Butler — mole, mezcal, and margaritas that take the assignment seriously. Ambler's default celebration table.
Cantina la Martina Jenkintown
The Jenkintown outpost of Cantina la Martina, the regional-Mexican kitchen that made its name in Philadelphia. Tacos and hand-pressed masa done properly on Old York Road.
Carniceria Camargo
Pedro Camargo is a third-generation butcher from Moroleón, Guanajuato, and his Magnolia Street market runs on the family recipes he brought north: marinated meats, fresh produce, and traditional Mexican dishes. The kitchen side turns out alambre, huaraches, and carne asada to take home.
Casa Del Sabor
A family-owned kitchen cooking both Guatemalan and Mexican, from recipes the family actually grew up on rather than a borrowed Tex-Mex playbook. Closed Mondays; Saturdays run to 8:30.
Cielito Lindo Mexican Grocery & Resturant
Part Mexican grocery, part kitchen, on the West End Boulevard strip. Pick up masa and dried chiles on one side, get tacos and tortas from the counter on the other.
Convivial Tacos and Tequila
Tacos and tequila from a small counter under the shared roof at 116 East Broad. Grab a couple and a margarita and post up.
Don Mezcal Mexican Grill
Mexican grill on Lancaster Ave with a full Del Mar seafood section, a molcajete of rib eye, shrimp, scallops and chorizo, and fajitas that arrive in a carved pineapple if you order the Hawaiian.
El Burrito Restaurant

El Vago restaurante
Sit-down Mexican on the western end of Skippack Pike, near the Schwenksville line. Tacos, enchiladas, and a weeknight dinner that doesn't need a reservation.
Fiesta Habanero
Mexican kitchen on West Broad built around sizzling fajitas and margaritas by the pitcher. The pitcher is meant to be shared, in theory.
Frida's Mexican Grill Two
Family-owned Mexican on the Souderton Hatfield Pike with a menu that runs deep: tortas, fajitas, tostadas, chimichangas, empanadas. Doors open at 10 a.m. daily, so a burrito breakfast is a legitimate option out here.

La Tortuguita Dorada is a small Mexican spot at 136 Lincoln Highway East, with ordering handled through a tidy Square site. Worth a stop for the tacos.
Las Frida's Mexican Kitchen
Street-style Mexican named for Frida Kahlo, with breakfast on the menu and the doors open at 10 a.m. sharp. The fish tacos come on blue corn tortillas.
Las Fridas Mexican kitchen Bryn Mawr
Street-style Mexican on Lancaster Avenue, named for Frida Kahlo, with sibling kitchens in Doylestown and Lansdale. Doors open at 9:30am, so breakfast tacos and huevos rancheros divorciados share the board with quesabirria and grilled octopus.
Las Fridas Mexican Kitchen Lansdale
The Lansdale room of Las Fridas, a small local taqueria family named for Frida Kahlo, serving street-style plates like blue-corn fish tacos. The move: any taco platter between 3 and 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday, comes with a free margarita.
Las Toluqueñas Xpress

Rancho Cafe

San Antonio Mexican Deli & Grocery

A Mexican taqueria on Easton Road that also runs taquizas and catering. Go for the tacos; the menu leans traditional from there.
Taste of Puebla
Mariana and Cristobal Castañeda spent 25 years in Kennett's mushroom industry before opening their Puebla food business in 2010, and the West Cypress storefront sells the results: house salsas, chile rellenos, guacamole and pico made fresh daily. They rebranded around catering and the salsa production line in 2016, and that's the main event now.
Tex Mex Connection
Tex-Mex that's anchored the corner of East Walnut for years, heavy on fajitas, margaritas, and a bar that stays busy. The place North Wales defaults to when nobody can agree on where to eat.
Three Brothers Grill
Lansdale's branch of the family-run Three Brothers taqueria operation, now six storefronts strong from Pottstown to Phoenixville. Street tacos on homemade tortillas are the draw, and Taco Tuesday keeps the tab close to pocket change.
