Eighth Street Park
Another of the borough's small neighborhood parks, this one on the west side. Bench, grass, a little breathing room off the street.
Fourth Street Park
A pocket park on South Fourth with room for the kids and not much fuss. Close enough to walk to from most of the older streets in town.
Gwynedd Preserve
A 279-acre Natural Lands preserve of native wildflower meadow and woodland on Swedesford Road, with unpaved trails, leashed dogs welcome, and Northern Harriers on the birding list. Free, dawn to dusk, closed Tuesdays.
Hess Park
One of the borough's tidy little neighborhood parks, quiet most of the day. The kind of green square you pass a hundred times before you finally stop.
Keystone N Trak
A model-railroad club running detailed N-scale layouts you can come watch on open-house days. Tiny trains, real wiring, and volunteers glad to walk you through all of it.
The Little Pod
An indoor playground off Welsh Road where the jungle gym sends kids through obstacles and down three different slides, with a separate toddler area for the ones not ready for the big climb. Walk-ins are fine daily until 5 — just pack socks and sign the waiver first.
Second Street Park Tennis Courts
Public tennis courts inside Second Street Park, free and first-come. Bring your own balls and you've usually got a court to yourself on a weekday morning.
Walnut Square Park
A small square on East Walnut, half a block from Tex Mex Connection and the shops. More a place to sit than a place to play.
Wee Walers
North Wales's tot-lot over on Shearer Street, built for the under-ten crowd and their tired parents. The name's a nod to the borough's Welsh namesake.
Weingartner Park
A neighborhood park up on Summit Street with ballfields and open grass. Good for a weeknight walk or letting the kids run off dinner.
