The Best Restaurants in Yardley
Yardley crams its whole dinner argument into a few blocks of Main Street. Here's how we'd settle it, ranked.
Nearly every kitchen in Yardley shares the same short stretch of Main Street, and the crowding has made them all sharper. Our ten runs from dinner on the Delaware in a building living on borrowed time, to kegs cellared in an 1889 bank vault, to a BYOB that has made its pasta from scratch every morning since 1995. A few good spots didn't make the cut, which is what a ranking is for. Read it, then tell us exactly where we're wrong.
The Yardley Inn
White clapboard on the Delaware since 1832, with a kitchen that names its sources: Griggstown quail, Loch Duart salmon. The whole building comes down in 2027 to make way for a larger replica, so a table by the water now comes with a deadline.
Charcoal BYOB
The Plescha family has made its pasta from scratch every morning since 1995, and the noodles section is where they show off: Old Bay spaccatelli under a fried soft-shell crab. It's BYOB, so the wine is your one job.
Continental Tavern
American tavern cooking in a Main Street building restored to its 1875 look, with 16 taps and a porch over Lake Afton. A 2007 renovation opened a sealed chamber under the kitchen and found more than 7,000 empty Prohibition whiskey bottles, receipts from its speakeasy days.
Vault Brewing Company
Seasonal beer and wood-fired pizzas inside the 1889 Yardley National Bank, where the original steel vault now cellars kegs instead of cash. The Cain brothers have been pouring since 2012.
Trattoria Rosa Bianca
Chef Anthony Boccella's South Main BYOB cooks house-made pasta from across Italy, Nonna's polpette on one plate and ricotta cavatelli with sweet corn on the next. Bring a bottle worth the pasta.
Kawaii Tori Sushi
A dinner-only sushi room with a full bar, which counts as a plot twist on a stretch where BYO is the rule. Three signature rolls for $45 is the order, just know the kitchen closes at 8:30.
Mil-Lee's Diner
Breakfast and lunch only, 7 to 3, and the blueberry pancakes arrive stacked high with real butter and syrup. No reservations, so you walk in off South Main and wait your turn like everyone else.
Canal Street Grille
Greek-leaning comfort food a block off the Delaware Canal, where gyros and pita sandwiches share the menu with burgers and a long list of wing sauces. It's BYOB, so pack the six-pack and angle for the canal view.
Franco's Tomato Pies
Trenton-style tomato pie one bridge from the source, sauce ladled on top of the cheese the way the tradition demands. The stuffed pizza, two layers of dough packed with meat or vegetables, is the deep cut.
Pretty Burger
Crispy-edged smash patties, hand-cut fries, and milkshakes from the Pretty Bird Coffee crew. The menu is short on purpose, and the griddle only runs Tuesday through Sunday from 3:30, so an early dinner is the play.
